Significant victory for striking Lindsey workers

<MOD> I thought this was a press release, it's actually a social party press release. REMOVE </MOD>

Small victory, they get the scraps off the table.

The report I published was not a press release - It was a report from people who participated in the dispute - it is not covered in the national media and I included a link to the story on the BBC to confirm that the strike was over and the terms agreed.

It is a disgrace that the moderators have removed the piece.

It was a copy and paste from the social party website - and it wasn't your own work, you could have linked to it and provided a summary in your own words.

I've had it up to here with lazy copy and paste jobs.

Major victory for these workers - they succeeded in ensuring that wage rates would be on the terms of the national agreements and that migrant workers would not be cynically used by the company to force down wages.

The workers also cast aside the anti- trade union legislation that exists in Britain and demonstrated that workers have the power to force bosses and the government into a humiliating climbdown in the face of an onsluaght from the establishment and an attempt to portray the dispute in a xenophopic fashion.

If you read the article on the SP website you will see that my post was an edited version and many changes were made to the content - particularly as the article was published before the workers accepted proposals to end the dispute.

    Ripples are spreading.

People close to the Commission said that a rewriting of the framework law – the “posting of foreign workers” directive – was not likely but that member states could be pushed into interpreting the laws in a way more favourable to local employees.
