    Congestion Charges

I am calling on all like minded people to call the minister of Transport too introduce a congestion charge in dublin. It is getting to a point where driving down the n4 road every car has only 1 person in it. This is a total disgrace. The road network can not sustain this. There should be a law that if you have 1 person in the car then you should not be able to enter the city until after 10:00.

Here'd a novel idea, how about a large park and ride site somewhere around maynooth so that people could avoid the bloodboiling agony of sitting in the morning tailbacks on the N4. You'll find most people don't want to sit in this traffic and would like an alternative. There's a very good QBC from leixlip into town and it should be utilised for a park and ride service.

Once this is in place, your congestion charge becomes viable.

As well as taking a fiver off every car driver a fiver should be given to every cyclist who rides in on a rainy day. It'll buy them a nice warm bowl of soup.

Considering I dont live anywhere near a bus route, arrow or a luas station and my car is my only form of transport thats a great f*u*c*k*i*n*g idea.

Why dont I just give up working and become a bum?

'Yeah I had it all mate, but they took my only form of transport into the job away and now I'm a FG councillor'

Heres a better idea - get a job in Kildare and stop driving into Dublin getting in my way every morning.

And QBC? What the ************************ is the Q for? Quality? Whats makes it Quality?

Could it be that its just another ridiculous piece of marketing ************************e thought up by some clown in Dublin Bus who just finished his first year in marketing?

There's no need to be so negative about your choices in your unfortunate predicament, you just need to make some important lifestyle choices such as:

1: Find work near where you live. This might involve less wages but you quality of life would improve & you would be able to participate more in your community.

2: Move near where you work. This may involve accepting a smaller house or apartment but you'd save a lot of time & be able to pursue other interests.

What is making you so obviously unhappy is that you want it all. Make some adjustments & everything will be fine. Your happiness is your responsibility.

I would oppose congestion charges because they favour people who can afford to pay them. Better would be to restrict the provision of our limited road capacity to space-wasting private vehicles & allocate more space to public transport, motor-bikes, bicycles and clearly marked commercial vehicles.

Or move to somewhere with public transport links to where you work.

Put more buses on the roads into Dublin.

    Hundreds more buses!

That should have been done a decade ago.

Now their forking out 34 billion on public transport out of which Dublin Bus gets 20 more buses!

I think offering people a real alternative to car culture is the way to go.

Obviously it will not suit everybody but I can't see why the ready availability of a bus service that actually works would not considerably ease the crazy traffic we see now.

    You say:
    Your happiness is your responsibility.
I'll have you know my happiness is a cigar called hamlet.

    So there.

And why in Gods name would I want to
participate more in (my) your community.
    ?

Jesus that would mean talking to the neighbours - ugh. Man you dont know my neighbours - theres only three house within a mile or so but I swear to God they have something dodgy going on with them!
