Ah well, perhaps you'll find another cause to fill the vacuum in your soul?
Sounds like you have some personal issues going on. Instead of projecting, maybe if you re-examine yourself here it might help: Politics.ie - View Profile: The OD

    2. Carbon emissions, again using NRA figures. This uses a predicted cost of a carbon credit. As was stated in the explanatory statement, the figures are used to show the results of the current plan. These figures are then contrasted with alternatives, such as upgrading the N3 and opening a railway, which significantly reduces the carbon emissions, by 50%, for the same number of commuters. I am not an engineer, but I received the following from Rod Aldrich, who did the analysis:

"yes, 100 years was used more or less for the reason he states, after 100 years the climate will either be impacted or it won't

if he wants to use 50 years it won't change the present worth of the penalties much, as the further out the penalty is paid, the less effect it has on present worth"

    This analysis is totally bogus.

Firstly, there is no comparative analysis of the emissions consequences of leaving the N3 in situe, which is crucial, given that cars produce lower emissions when travelling at 55kph than they do with idling in a traffic jam in the main street in Dunshaughlin.

Secondly, the MPG for vehicles is taken from the USEPA, and is set at 20.3, which is significantly lower than the rate that applies in Ireland.

Thirdly, the cost of a Carbon Credit to offset a tonne of CO2 is set at €100, whereas credits are currently trading at between €30-€40.

Fourthly, no explanation is given as to how the annual figure is extrapolated to the 100 year figure of €360m.

Like I said, I'm not an engineer. Rod will be on later to explain.

    Moziltov! Anyway, keep me informed.

Can I just ask one question about Q.4 on the Tarawatch questionnaire?

Tarawatch claims that the NRA has overspent on roads by 16 billion euro. I'd just like to know where Tarawatch got that figure from (a breakdown would be nice).

So your strategy is to get politicians to make you promises at a time of election. Audacious. But by god, it just might work!

But can you pull such a daring manuvre off? I mean politicians are awefully awefully busy around election time, its not as if they have the time to promise everyone everything and anything they want.
