This wholly unacceptable situation is being discussed on Newstalk and should be discussed nationwide.

Young James McCarthy, a Scot whose Irish grandfather's dying wish was that he play for Ireland and has played for Ireland at many levels underage recently declared for Ireland. Many bigoted Scottish "journalists" have lambasted him in their rags. He plays for Scottish club, Hamilton.

On Saturday in a game against Rangers, he was subjected to racist abuse all through the game with the Loyalist filth singing "The Famine is over, why don't you go home", "Rule Britannia" and much more.
He was booed and harassed throughout the game.

He has not had this abuse from any other club, but then again, these are not football supporters but racist far right thugs waving Union Jacks.

Hamilton faced Rangers again last night and it was only when they were warned that they would be arrested if they continued the racist abuse that they stopped.

This is what young James said when selected to play for Ireland previously:
James McCarthy has just been interviewed for the next edition of You Boys in Green. He asked that the following be posted up on YBIG:
"I'd just like to say a big thanks to all the Ireland fans who have been so supportive of me and the other lads coming through. It's great to have made the under-21s, I can't wait to play at that level for Ireland.
"I'm really looking forward to it. I'm very happy with the progress I've made so far for club and country. Hopefully Ireland fans will be seeing a lot more of me soon."

Rangers are most certainly NOT interested in removing these thugs, if they were, they would ban the Union Jack.
