Ask Martin Mansergh. Ask David Trimble. Ask Tony Blair. Mallon had a massive input compared to the entirety of PSF.
Or better still, have a look at Sunningdale and compare with the GFA. Same deal. The SDLP were pushing that template of power-sharing for 30 years before PSF clambered aboard the sense train.
As Mallon himself said, Sunningdale for slow learners. And there were few slower learners than PSF.
You'll upset the PSF crowd. They think the world revolves around them.
Just heard on RTE 9 o clock news. Bertie Ahern (and Blair) are among the nominees for the 2008 Noble Peace Prize. (If there is a thread on this already apologies please delete this one)
Result to be announced Friday - could be sensational - President Ahern a dead cert and an "up yours" to the tribunals!
I can't believe I'm cheer-leading Ahern here but the fact remains that many historic landmark agreements were reached in the North with the help of his stewardship.
You do not see a power-sharing assembly as the answer...so what is?
BUt there is no sharing going on. SF and DUP are at it again with no work being done by the politicians, just fighting. There is no power sharing and no peace in Northern Ireland, when will the masses wake up to this fact and realise the truth?
