    Driving Test-arriving unaccompained clampdown?

Heard that the RSA are now asking drivers if they have driven to the test on their own? Syrely they are crossing the line between making people aware of road regulations/setting them to actually enforcing them? Heard of a case where a driver was refused his test because he foolishly admitted he drove on his own. I also heard of other cases where having failed a test a driver was asked if he had anyone to drive him home? When he said no he was told yes told to call a taxi! Surely they are crossing a line into law enforcement? Secondly why should they deny a person a test for breaking the law when it would be impossible to prosecute the person on just their evidence alone? The tester is only there to give you a test in an insured/prov licensed/road worthy vehicle-nothing else. This did not happen to me-I drove unaccompanied to my driving test-come and get me! I passed

The RSA are a quango that could do with some pruning. What was the point in their sending out rules of the road to every household? How many people bothered to read them? Its a waste of money but it ticks useless bureaucratic boxes!

I think its fair for the RSA to do this. It cannot tolerate law breaking on its watch.

Driving tests are quite stressful enough without arrest and incarceration. I think this is a good excuse for testees to rope someone else in to chauffeur them to and from the test. They need all the support they can get.

What exactly is its "Watch"-it promotes safety not enforces it. Last time I checked you needed a badge to enforce the law on traffic offenses. Most people are only driving a few miles to their test. Give them a break !

Anyone who obeys the law wont have anything to fear.

Anyone who breaks the law should fail there test and be reported to the Gardai.

My taxidriver says these rules will cause many to get motorbikes instead, as they do not apply in such cases. So if you don't like it, you know what to do.

Let me see -you try calling the cops about any L Driver you see driving unaccompanied . See what happens Passing or failing the test is generally a separate matter.

    What age are you?

Anyways yeah I completely agree, I don't see that this would actually be legal (so by planetX's rather cliched rhethoric we could be calling the Gardai about them) and eitherway should be stopped. If they see it they should call the Gardai and report the person, but if they actually have time to provide the test then they should still do so. If they saw me J-walking across the road to the test centre would they have the right to fail me for that? What if I littered? Are they allowed evaluate the driver, outside of the driving test? What is their mandate?

What are they employ to do ?

Those are the questions they should ask them, and it seems that a lot of us dont actually stand up to the threat of RSA tester given all their attitude towards applicants well i will be having my test with them less than 48 hours and if they preform fraud or any malice aforethought on the test in questions we will go down together because i have had enough of them not doing their jobs they're mearnt to do, the last time i met gay byrne i asked him to tell the RSA tester to be honest and he said he's trying his best, But every citizen should bloody well wake up to the threat of the RSA tester around the country. twisted evil.
All things are bright and beautiful but who made it ?
