Is Avril Doyle an amazing disappearing Lady?

Please excuse the unchivalrousness of my comment but when the doping scandal broke, four years ago
and last week, Ms Doyle was on the news.

Last week she was on the news.
    Then she vanished.
Why is she not answering questions?

The I.O.C stated on the Nine O Clock News last evening that there has not been full communication
between equestrarian team management and the IOC at any level, which was denied in statement by
    the Irish team leaders.

Now who is the public front for the Irish team, who takes responsibility, who answers questions?
I want to know why they are avoiding the IOC and the Press. I want to know why no-one is answering
questions. Our sportspeople are in disrepute and it is not good enough that they vanish.

They have to answer questions about their complete stupidity and lack of knowledge
on current issues round doping, cos one of their jobs is to be aware of the prohibited substances.

I am tired of grown men blubbing. this is a professionally funded body.
    Heads Must Roll.

    answer the IOC. NOW!

Don't you know ... Her Highness doesn't like - sniff - being asked questions especially by lowly mebers of the public and she most certainly doesn't like having to explain herself - send her an email and ask her about the expenses she fiddles in the EU and see the type of reply you get or ask her why she voted against relased the EU report on MEPS defrauding the EU taxpayer and see how she responds!

Even though I'm FG I hope she doesn't stand again - she brings nothing to the table. Alan Dukes should stand with McGuinness. But I don't suppose Dukes wants to get involved in elected politics again and who can blame him!

You can sure she is busy spinning to make sure someone else gets the blame - so much for the buck stopping with her - she's all over the place like a rash if there is a winner and then when there's trouble she retracts the drawbridge and hides away in her ivory tower.

    She can fiddle me dee.

How intellectually stupid is it not to know what a banned substance is at the highest level
    of sport?

It is not good enough to have such utterly embarrassing and shabby management even at junior level
it is a disgrace. They will not communicate with the IOC.That is not acceptable to me either.
Now , if they cannot do their job and provide kids with something to aspire to ; and have brought
our country into absolute disgrace then they should walk the plank and allow those with some
honesty prepare us for the next olympics.

Not good enough to ignore the press, the IOC, the kids who wanted to see medals.

    I am appalled.

It just shows FG is just as able to promote cronys as FF is - can it be any wonder Ireland is so utterly crap at every sport given the types who are running sport orgs in Ireland. It must be soul destroying for the people who compete knowing all their work will be for nothing because of some crook in running their sport council.

A show-jumper used a prohibited substance. I believe his naivety.

What I do not accept is that the people whose job it is to know what is and is not prohibited
did not tell them, did not advise against using the muscle relaxant (or whatever it was) at
    such a habitual level.

He said that he frequently uses it on the horses back.

Last night the IOC said that the equesterian team had not communicated with them and they
had to go to the Olympic council to get answers to their questions. Jesus christ, we have sure
sportspeople in this country and they need good leaders who are devoted to their sport.

same goes for politicians, they should not own oil companies or do olympics
    but read the LAWS.

(I am fuming now- going for a cuppa)

Totally agree! Just a thought. How would you feel about turning the GAA professional? I know I know - every FF'r and their aunt would be on County teams but - and heres the rub - the GAA would have to account for its earnings!

Well considering the GAA only operates in Ireland there's no wonder it's as bad as the IOC or the FAI or all the other quangos stuffed with cronys of politicans.

It is an utter disgrace that after all the boom Ireland has shamed itself at yet another Olympics. As well as all sports in IReland being badly run and massiv money wasted there is also the issue of drink and sports - where else is the first thing supposedly top class sports people do is go for a drink after their sport!

At least we have the boxers.
And the Vice-President of the Irish amateur Boxing Association is the same Tommy Murphy FF MCC for Louth who asked for Bertie to go a few monthd before the Dear Leader was finally shamed into going.

Again I agree. But what about all the money the GAA have stolen from the Irish people?
