The report is carried there. From my reading of it, it is saying that there is a 62% increase in reportings of child pornography to the appropriate body, presumably by people who came across it by mistake. Not that there is a 62% increase in people looking it up, or indeed availability.

What's the disgusting part? listening to Myers' voice or the facts??!!

Sorry! Yes it is a rather disgusting fact, but we seem to have more than our fair share of sick, disgusting people in this country.

You always have to be careful with stats like that there is just an increase in the known levels, its impossible to know the actual levels

Re: 62% Increase in access to child pornography in Ireland

The ISPAI, which represents Internet Service Providers in Ireland, received over 800 reports of illegal material on the Internet last year.
This is a non story, we don't even know which of the 718 were in fact kiddie porn .... this could be down to the ISPs increasing the prominence of the "report kidde porn" button on their home pages. The reports then could have been bogus (e.g. complaining about pics from a kiddies birthday party or "just18.com" etc).

Then the RTE Silly Season Editor spins it as:

There has been a dramatic increase in the volume and severity of child pornography on the Internet.
