U.S. online gaming ban a chance for Ireland: report

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Ireland should reform outdated gambling laws that outlaw casinos and could benefit from an effective ban on Internet gambling in the United States if it had the right legislation, a government committee said.

This report is welcome. We need the State out of our lives in terms of gambling, other than some measured regulations to control problem-gambling and prevent children getting involved.

Yes but we don't have a Las Vegas or an Atlantic City in this country.
I think it would be kinda fun to remake a place like Bray into one.
    Also a 6-Flags-like amusement/theme park would do well - no? :P

Well, like, allowing online gambling companies to be set up here doesn't mean Vegas style anything. Neither does it mean an increase in gambling. It just means we get jobs and taxes.
