Who was that loon who was calling for Magic Arse to bring in an emergency budget from last January. I am glad Freedomlover heaped scorn on the miserable troll. GBMA.

I bow before you Young Dan, and am in the process of convincing my other half to liquidate all financial assets and hand them over to your good care.. and I'm not taking the piss...

I hear that talk on the streets is that they're planning to bring back domestic rates and at a really high rate to make up the appalling gap in public finances - It will be like a second mortgage.....

The question is.. what will they do this side of a local election ?

The Governments councillors will be decimated next year if any extra charges are levied.. especially something like rates which would cause Poll Tax like riots.. so the likliehood is a severe cut in spending rather than extra revenue collection. At this time anyway.

If the problem continues beyond next years elections, the 2010 Budget will be a complete bloodbath

    Re: Mini Budget next week

The gravity of the problem is not recognised. Rounding off everything every billion gap is an extra 1000 euro per 5 person family. The latest figure was 3.7 billion I think. Maybe 10 billion would be more like it. That is without a bank bailout. How does 10 grand rates on a house sound.
They were afraid to bring these figures to light when Magic Arse wanted Chief Yellow Jacket's job and later when happy times were needed for the Lisbon vote. So roll on next week and a good prod up the whole from the European Central Bank on Thursday to set the mood just right.

The gravity of the problem is not recognised if people think that they can wait until the 2010 budget to sort out public finances either - Unless firm and decisive action is taken NOW the country will be well and truly sh@gged by then....

I hope I'm wrong, but I think that the rumours about rates making a comeback (with a vengence) sound about right.....
