The Irish Times Article "Local Hero" Dated 15/06/2008

The Irish Times dedicated a spread in their Magazine Section Yesterday featuring Rotimi Adebari......... Ireland's First Black Mayor for the Town of Portlaoise. Calling him a "local hero" and including his speech declaring he feels "More of a laois man than ever before".

This man without a doubt lied on his Asylum Application to enter this Country from Nigeria. Does anyone apart from myself find this incredibly offensive?

Evidence gathered last year proved he worked for the London Underground......... they even found his employee profile on their records!

He said that he was fleeing "Religious Persecution" from his home town, yet we all saw last year this village gave him a welcome home party........... If you are fleeing from religious persecution ........ why would go back to the place that endangers you willingly?............... Would your oppressors throw you a welcome home bash?........

People should lay off him. He's doing no one any harm. He seems a popular chap in Laois.

Most people don't get overly upset when someone fibs a bit or exaggerates to get a better life for himself and his family, if he's not harming anyone else.

The guy that won The Apprentice last week had fibbed on his CV. Didn't stop Alan Sugar hiring him.
