Without FG & L how much higher would the No vote have been?

If FG and L had not been involved how much higher would the No vote have been?

Why did the famous FF machine get it so wrong?

Why did FF not run any campaign? They must have known it was going to be defeated or is FF so out of touch that they assumed all they had to do was tell people how to vote.

Then to leave the intellectual arguments to FG because its clear FF don't have politicians of the intellectual ability of FG.Were FF TDS not getting feedback fro mthe ground that the No was winning the argument.

It is inconceiveable that FF did not see it coming and that begs the question of why Cowen was like a rabbit in the headlights.

If FG were not involved... I would have voted No ... Cowen needs to get one of those dummy guides to leadership and management... Replacing you manager with in 6 weeks of going live

and I would have seen no politicans in Clare campagning for the yes side ...

But did any FF actually knock on door - it doesn't seem like they did.

Also where did FG get the money for its campaign - was it from the EPP? Isn't that illegal?

I wonder now that some people have broken the mental barrier of voting against FF does that change the pitch or will it revert to as before in a few weeks.

Seems the FF machine isn't as invincible as they'd like to think.

I noticed that a lot of the FF ministers were doing a lot of whingeing in the run up to the vote, complaining about the No side, Libertas et al getting so much airtime, putting up so many posters..as if they had in some way been disadvantaged.
They are the bleeding Government for chrissakes!, they should have been blowing these guys away... a motley coalition of Libertas, SF, Coir etc

No ff called to my door nor was ther any letter drops fromt them either... It the last week and a half of the campagm those small diamon posters with Dooley sayes Yes appear...

I did attend a meeting set up by FG with Eugen Regan, Jim Higgins, John Cushangan and Pat Breen and Joe Carey... I foud the Q & A very good... and Pat Breen and Joe Carey were canvasing together in Ennis on Saturdays...

FG, Liberitas and RSF dropped leafets to my House...

In the end , the FG people I spoke were p*ssed off with Cowen and the govts failure to explain the treaty but voted yes because they look at who was against it...

Edit... No ideal were FG posters funding was from... FG i presume
