I thought Ganleys point about the veto being nowhere in the Treaty was a heavy/good one for those who would not be familiar with international law. Which, obviously, most people are not.

Where's Frank Luntz with his clapometer thingy? Come to think of it, with Butler going off the rails, and Lenihan looking like he's about to explode, it's a c*apometer they need. Mary Lou did well which is as much praise as I could give her!
I *heart* these kinds of comments.Originally Posted by Podolski

Irelands voting power halved,Germanys voting power doubled,Lenihans answer, we have lots a frinds in europe,those friends will ignore us when we lose our voting power.We are been sold a pig in a poke.anyone can see that now.
this man ganley just goes from strength to strength;
its great that someone in this country is prepared to stand up to our misleaders;
how did ff let him slip through their fingers?
wasn't he a great supporter of theirs in the past?
and now they do their utmost to discredit him!
whats the old saying, nothing more vengeful than a woman scorned, or something like that;
interesting that ff have gotten fg onside to help them in their endeavour![]()
What was incredibly annoying was the ignorance of the Primetime speakers on the reduction in the size of the Commission. The decision to reduce the Commission was decided under the Nice Treaty. It is depressing that contributors to the debate have such a short term memory and such nonsense is spouted where the change in the composition of Commissioner's is presented as new concept introduced by Lisbon which it is not.
A bit more accuracy in the debate wouldn't go amiss.
