    Pope Bringing Back Tradition

Did anyone notice that the Pope re-introduced the Easter Octive Mozetta at the weekend. Its the white mozetta with fur (faux i hear) trim. Has not been used since the very early days of Pope Paul VI (early 60's)

For those not familiar, the mozetta is the short cape, to the elbows, buttoned at front and worn over the cassock. It is worn as part of the popes choir dress and is usually crimson in colour.
"......... we must sometimes listen to those who, consumed with zeal, have scant judgment or balance. To such ones the modern world is nothing but betrayal and ruin.........We feel bound to disagree with these prophets of doom who are forever forecasting calamity -- as though the world's end were imminent."

    Its a message.

The Knights Templar are using p.ie to communicate!

    I think it means:

"Match Saturday. Three Rock. Meet The Orchard 11am".
The only way to change the world is to win elections.

The red shoes are back but I am surprised he brought back the white mozetta. (I'd love to see a picture.)

I wish he would bring back the triple tiaras. They were spectacular. It is a pity that all they do are sit in museum cases or travel the world as part of the St Peter and the Vatican tour. They are historic and beautiful. It would be nice to see them being used. (Pope John's 1959 one is really beautiful, as was Pius XI's 1922 tiara. And Pope John Paul II's one has never been worn, which is a shame as it was a gift of the people of Hungary.)

Pope wears vestments in wardrobe shock!

    Anti-climax of the year.

For a moment I thought I'd have to learn Latin in 72 hours before Mass on Sunday.

Good God, the minutiae which germinate threads here.

He did a 21 question thread with 1 question on the subject not 2 weeks ago. I'd expect him to be our in-house papal sartorial expert.
