    Exemplar of Irish intellectual loafing.

And (it seems) for the 45,000th time, the deceased lady requested an abortion due to her condition and was refused one because the legal position was perceived as not permitting it. And her family have publicly called for a YES vote because of their experience. Though I'm sure you don't concern yourself with such trivia.
Thank you for providing the very exemplar of Irish intellectual loafing.
Any request to have one's big toe amputated will be refused as it is the inappropriate treatment for Pes Planus.

We can tell from your posts that...

    1. You have not troubled yourself to read any of the official reports.
    2. You would rather have the tabloids tell you what to think than do any thinking for yourself.
    3. Science, reason and logic are not for you.

That's what this thread is about.

The future aborted lost depending on legislation. Everyone else gets out alive.

If only we'd voted No and 'we' could continue to bury our heads and pretend it wasn't happening while Irish women continued to go to England.

It would be put to a vote again you tool. Have you absolutely no concept of precedent?

Not one of the three official investigations into her death came to the conclusion that abortion was the appropriate treatment for her infection. Her death was disgracefully used as a political football which created much hysteria, thereby putting the lives of women at further risk through failure to contemplate what actually happened and take the appropriate steps to reduce the risk of such cases happening again.

Six women die in the UK on average every year from direct or genital tract sepsis. This happens despite abortion being available on demand and it is not used by British medics to try and save the lives of these women. Why? Because abortion is not the appropriate treatment for an infection. Even if the baby was aborted, the infection would remain and if it was a “super bug” like the one which infected Savita’s womb, the outcome would have been the same.

In 2013, 11 senior medics took the trouble to publically criticise Dr. Boylan for his opinion which is not based on medical science, medical knowledge or indeed plain old fashioned reason. “it is impossible for Dr. Boylan, or for any doctor, to predict with certainty the clinical course and outcome in the case of Savita Halappanavar where sepsis arose from the virulent and multi drug-resistant organism, E.coli ESBL.”

“Ireland’s maternal health record is one of the best in the world in terms of our low rate of maternal death (including Galway hospital). The case in Galway was one of the worst cases of sepsis ever experienced in that hospital, and the diagnosis of ESBL septicaemia was almost unprecedented amongst Irish maternity units.”

Is the current tidal wave of ignorance afflicting the country due to decades of poor educational standards or is it that the Irish are just no good at using science, reason or logic, preferring to still believe in fairy tales.

(Note: posting now that the shouting is almost over and not wanting to be accused of trying to influence anybody’s vote its time that the Irish faced reality and this disgraceful behaviour is put to an end.)
    Thanks

I think the 'Savita' crowd already knew that

They just cynically used her Tragic death for their own purposes

People should realise that Savita really really wanted this Baby

    - she never wanted any of this to happen her

I'm pretty certain that Savita would be Pro Life person if she was still with us today.

How dare they use her image for their own vile ends....

Most people are pro life you idiot. As for Savita might I respectfully suggest her family probably knew her just that little better than you.

Savita was killed by the Catholic Taliban.
