Surely you at least agree that this unethical to try to get someone so drunk that they would sleep with you, in a case where they wouldn't otherwise.

Yes, seriously. I disagree with him quite fundamentally on some very substantial points but accept his perspicacity and his ability to articulate his views eloquently.

The most significant problem we have in the current climate of thought is its vacuity. He isn't vacuous and takes the time to explain exactly how naked contemporary ideology is. There's courage and commonsense in what he says.

I've explained this lots of times. If you want to have sex with someone, you need their consent. If you obtain their consent by lying to them, then you haven't really obtained their consent at all.

True enough, but that does lead to difficulties.

If in taking all reasonable measures the man directly asks the woman if she wants to have sex with him, the woman may interpret that ask as being an "unwanted sexual advance".

We're told these days that even sexual advances can be not wanted by females, so what is a man to do if he is unsure if the woman is willing to have sex with him or not?

If he asks he may be in trouble, if he doesn't ask he may be in trouble.

If you're not sure whether something would be reasonably considered an unwanted sexual advance, then don't do it.

How is one to know what will/won't be taken as an unwanted sexual advance?

What would be reasonable in the circumstances?

Surely different women may have different views about this.
