Here's an idea, given that most public sector posts in particular at admin level, require only junior cert level of abilty and B2 fluency in English, why not recruit public service workers en masse from Eastern Europe and Malta and Cyprus and pay them 30-40% less than the current crop here, whom, they will be displacing!
Hey if it's good enough for private sector workers it's more than good enough for them!

    Give us

I suspect that they will get most of what they want!

You know some people take the view that our public sector are the equivalent of the miners fighting Thatcher, the reality is very much they are grabbing to the last and beggaring everyone else to the last!

Their work shyness is really only outpaced by their insatiable greed and of course their uncanny abilities to get their relations into the system to pig at the trough as well!
PS leeches really are a disgusting lot.
They have no problem with the country having to borrow another couple of billion to fund their lifestyles and gold plated pensions as long as the hard pressed private sector are paying for it.
This compromised and weak 'government' will cave in too, just like thy did when their police force threatened an illegal strike.....

Two of the 25 gardai currently suspended from duty have been in that position for the past seven years.
Ms Fitzgerald also confirmed a prison officer has been suspended from duty on full pay since July 8, 2010, and has been paid €320,661 in salary to date.
Meanwhile the Garda identified as shagging a porn star on his patrol car hasn't even been suspended.

We can only look on in disbelief. Public service workers want their 'emergency tax' cuts back and are lining up to blackmail the tax paying public.

Well, I want my 'emergency tax' in the form of Universal Social Charge back. Why should we continue to pay this 'emergency tax' when the crisis is over? To feed the insatiable demands of teachers, bus companies & clerks?

Give us back the USC and let people pay taxes for services they actually use like water & sewage......

Have they confirmed it was a garda? Maybe he was just carrying out the new drugs test?

The more money that is pumped into the sweating grasping arse pockets of these mostly insider gobshytes, the less money that will be spent where it is really needed e.g. in education technology for our schools and diagnostic equpment and healing equipment for our hospitals!
