Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council (IMPIC) has released an anti-extremism declaration and is calling all Mosques and Islamic Organisations in Ireland to request foreign speakers who are invited to speak to the Muslim communities in Ireland to sign the declaration.

Shaykh Umar Al-Qadri, Chair of IMPIC and Imam of the Islamic Centre Ireland, welcomed the cancellation of the talks by Dr. Othman Al-Khamees in the Islamic Foundation of Ireland last week, and said this was ‘an achievement of the vigilant Muslims in Ireland‘. He said that he was ‘glad that the talk was cancelled, but serious questions need to be asked to the organisers. Why did they invite Shaykh Al-Khamis to speak ?‘

‘In an increasing Islamophobic environment, the last thing we need is a hate preacher who will not only lead to sectarian tensions, but will also feed into Islamophobic attempts to demonise the Muslim community in Ireland,’ Shaykh Al-Qadri said.

He stressed that he is not in favour of any ban on foreign speakers, as this would be against the fundamental right of freedom of expression. However, ‘he would not like hate preachers to be given a platform on which they can not be challenged‘.

Shaykh Umar Al-Qadri also said that he will write to the Minister of Justice, and he hopes that the Department of Justice will incorporate the signing of the anti-extremism declaration into the visa conditions for foreign speakers.

‘Those who claim that they are peaceful and believe in integration should have no reluctance in signing the anti-extremism statement’, he said. ‘If signing this statement becomes a condition imposed by the Department of Justice in visa applications, radical hate preachers will be put off the idea of visiting Ireland to spread their word‘.

Shaykh Ali al-Saleh of the Milltown Islamic centre said that joint Sunni-Shia efforts resulted in the cancellation of speeches by radical sectarian speaker Dr. Al Khamis, and he believes that this is a precedent for future.

Italy: Archbishop calls for construction of mosque, Islamic celebrations in schools

The fond Matteo Maria Zuppi is sure that once the mosque he desires is built, the Muslims who attend it will hear about the kindness and generosity of the Christians who welcomed them to Bologna, and be encouraged to respond in kind. He is adamant that anyone who thinks a mosque in Bologna might become a source of trouble for non-Muslims is a racist, bigoted “Islamophobe,” and un-Christian to boot. He is certain that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance that will fit right in to his glorious multicultural tapestry in Bologna.

On what does he base this confidence? On nary a single fact. Matteo Maria Zuppi is betting the future of his city and his people on Leftist wishful thinking. By the time reality crashes in upon his fantasies, it will likely be too late. Until then, however, he has a bright future in today’s Catholic Church. He is just the kind of guy they want.

I posted about that earlier in the thread. Speaks volumes that they need one, doesn't it? But I didn't notice whether they will consider it extremist language to call for the murder of gays, apostates and adulterers.

Well done Kershaw and glad you are keeping up to date on those who despise hatred and stand for peace and understanding. Am sure you know the Christian faith is hardly embracing of gays, apostates and adulterers but hey that religion for you.

Christianity is dying out in Ireland and all over Europe. Our countries have largely become secularised. We've been through an era of enlightenment. We don't need to replace it with the most backward, intolerant, savage and totalitarian death-cult on the planet.

This Britain First crowd just go looking for trouble by deliberately stirring it up. That said, we must never let a populace who do not primarily identify with Ireland and Irish society gain ground like that.

Agree with you but tolerance and respect are part of our culture irrespective of religious influence or not and your blanket demonising of one religion over another only encourages intolerance and hatred.

Most Muslims, for example, maintain that the Quoran states: "There is no compulsion in (accepting) the religion (of Islam)…”

We can only fight or oppose the unacceptable, as we have done over time with Christianity, if we do not erect hatred and communication barriers in the first place.

They're stirring it up all right but at the very least they're drawing attention to the Muslim mindset. There is a general view that not all Muslims are bad but sure not all Germans were bad either.

Our very way of life and everything we stand for is in peril.
