    Pope condemns "dubious ideology"

This is the funniest thing I ever read:

    http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/de ... b_doom.htm

Pope Benedict XVI has launched a surprise attack on climate change prophets of doom, warning them that any solutions to global warming must be based on firm evidence and not on dubious ideology.
The idea of the head of a religion demanding "firm evidence" over "dubious ideology" is fantastic irony.

Despite the irony, it is rather gallileoesque for the pope to take such a stance.

"Pope advocates for fact based science"

I'd say Galileo would be spitting fire right now if he were alive.

Maybe he feels threatened by a competing religion.

So let's see. The Pope advocates fact-based science over dubious ideology. I'd have to agree with him, frankly.

Bizarre, although the full text isn't as bad as this is made out to be.

Absolutely, especially when that celibate former nazi youth, man in a dress is making such irrational, unbalanced and radical statements as the following:

"It is important for assessments in this regard to be carried out prudently, in dialogue with experts and people of wisdom, uninhibited by ideological pressure to draw hasty conclusions, and above all with the aim of reaching agreement on a model of sustainable development capable of ensuring the well-being of all while respecting environmental balances.

"If the protection of the environment involves costs, they should be justly distributed, taking due account of the different levels of development of various countries and the need for solidarity with future generations.

"Prudence does not mean failing to accept responsibilities and postponing decisions; it means being committed to making joint decisions after pondering responsibly the road to be taken."
    From Simon Caldwell's report.

    Oh how I laughed.

I dont what the hell you guys are on about, compared to any (popular) religion, the catholic church is more pro-science. Supported evoltion from near the begining.
