Northern Ireland overtake the Republic in FIFA rankings

Given that players from both countries can supposedly now play for either one, perhaps the talent may drift north.

Anyway, both teams have a #2 seed in Sunday's World Cup draw, so they cannot draw each other.

ah yer a gas man Keith. There'll only be one way migration.

don't you mean no. 3 seed?
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

They deserve to be ahead of us. I agree with Alonso though I don`t see many Southerners defecting to the North.

Good for them. Right spirit and all that. And it means less chance of them getting their sticky paws on the Sam Maguire.

FYI - I've never been a member of a political party, Mark J. Coughlan, the ex-PD, is another person.

I looked at BBC's ceefax last night and it gave the impression it was a done deal with games to be played in February and March. The only remaining factor was if England would join the tournament.
