They just weren't on the public radar TBH....
Didn't the nuns and the RCC hierarchy know what was going on there? When I was a child there was occasionally a threat of special schools, which now I now in understood meant the dreaded industrial schools. But I didn't know anything about the Magdelene laundries until I was an adult. Presumably because we weren't taught about sex never mind babies.

But I did see a Magdelene laundry in Galway. It was owned by the nuns via the Bishop, the veritable Eamonn Casey, as can be see via the deeds to the costly housing estate that was built on it. Of course Casey being a man had no problem getting a woman pregnant. And you know what the men in Galway were pissed of about that story, guess.

    You maybe right

    - but you maybe wrong....

Alas there is now no way of verifying this

BTW has anyone actually seen the film?

Can't say I ever heard of it myself....

I was aware that there were places where girls were sent if they....

But that was about it until it all blew up in the mid 1990s IIRC

20 years past and not one of the inmates has initiated civil proceedings against the Nuns!

    - well that I know of anyway

What is it Cataplast you are trying to prove? Don't you think those women have been through enough without your ignorance.
