But that would be too sensible a suggestion reading the various reactions on this thread.
We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when creating them

Do you want to reintroduce them to the wild? If so, fencing them in runs contrary to that. If you want to put them in a zoo, thats fine with me.

Only a bit. Not sure what the exact figures are, but the wolf population would need to be pretty rampant before we would see cases where individuals are being attacked/intimidated in any way. Any reintroduction scheme would take that into account anyway, and ensure that these animals are situated in places where they have enough food and scouting area to stay well clear of the general populous, much as they have done in certain areas of Scotland.

As to the "why", I would think this is fairly self-evident. Ignoring an impending outcry from farmers as to the possible killing of livestock (presumably easily solved by keeping conservation projects separate from grazing areas), the Wolf has been wiped out by our good selves, and I can't see any reason why they do not deserve a place in our ecosphere.

What's the point in reintroducing the wolf? It just seems like a lot of hassle for nothing.

We could paint them green and tell tourists that they are leprechauns.
