    Business standards V.V Sporting standards

I'm curious about a certain phenomenon I've noticed in Irish public life.

When a team does badly in Sport, the Managers head is called for.

When a team does badly in Business, the workers heads are called for!

Any reason for this discrepancy in attitude?

the managers in sport are "workers" employed by Chairmen or Associations. And players heads are called for on a daily basis... Also the fan factor is more potent than customer or client satisfaction meaning heads often roll prematurely
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

I.e. they're middle management, the same guys who get hit first when a business is not performing, not the workers.

In the US a CEO will be canned billyo if numbers are missed or if there is the hint of a smell off him.

In Ireland the Supreme Court can find him guilty of Insider dealing and he retains his job with a unanamious vote of confidence from the Board.
