    Ahern insists lodgement was sterling

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has denied allegations that he received payments from developers in the 1990s. He also described allegations made against him by developer Tom Gilmartin as reckless and scurrilous.

In a 15 minute statement to the Tribunal Mr Ahern said that he never accepted a bribe in his 30-year career in politics. He said that during the life of the Mahon Tribunal it had failed to uncover any such evidence.

He referred to leaks to the media, some of which involved forged documents, and said they were designed to damage him politically and personally.

He said allegations by Tom Gilmartin that he received bribes from Owen O'Callaghan were false, commenting that he was still sore over some of the allegations, many of which he said had never entered the public domain.

    Ahern in Denying Corruption Shocker.

The phrase 'he would, wouldn't he' comes to mind.

Probably something along the lines, Gilmartin saw Ahern fallout of a toilet dressed as a women holding $45,000 and a bloody mary…

Which wouldn't actually be a whole lot more ridiculous and pathetic than the dig-out story and the crocodile tears with Dobson.
"Elite - a small superior group; esp one that has a power out of proportion to its size." (Oxford English Dictionary)

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Bertie's Princess Diana interview!!! All he needed was tones of eyeliner and a soundbite like "there were three in this marriage" and we could call him Di Ahern.

Probably that Bertie was driving Princess Di's car in Paris and then went on to mastermind 9/11.

If he took bribes, does it matter?
