As an earlier poster mentioned, with regards to the photos, the US certainly learned from previous experience. He's dead. If he isn't, why wait 10 years before lying? And about the SEAL operator in question...I'm sure he can find employment in the private security industry if he tries.

Bap! Bap! US Seal tells of killing Bin Laden - Independent.ie
He gave the interview only after leaving the service after 16 years, without a pension or healthcare.
Why did he leave the service?

Why is he not receiving Veterans' Administration benefits?

Surely, a person who has been in the armed forces for that length of time would be entitled to a small pension.

Also from the above Indo article:

After the raid, the Seal said he was offered a place in a witness protection programme – delivering beer in Milwaukee. He decided against the offer because "like Mafia snitches" he would lose contact with all his friends and family.
He was dead right to refuse the offer. He killed a mass-murderer. Bin Laden didn't wear a uniform and he wasn't the leader of a country. Therefore, the Geneva Convention didn't apply to him.

I hope that his experience will help him find decent work.

If you have a problem, if no-one else can help, and if you can find him....

    Gulf of Tonkin incident

It is not simply that there is a different story as to what happened; it is that no attack happened that night

30-year Anniversary: Tonkin Gulf Lie Launched Vietnam War

President Johnson ordered U.S. bombers to "retaliate" for a North Vietnamese torpedo attack that never happened.

A pattern took hold: continuous government lies passed on by pliant mass media...leading to over 50,000 American deaths and millions of Vietnamese casualties.

Nearly three decades later, during the Gulf War, columnist Sydney Schanberg warned journalists not to forget "our unquestioning chorus of agreeability when Lyndon Johnson bamboozled us with his fabrication of the Gulf of Tonkin incident."

The man who killed Osama has come out of hiding and revealed his identity, one Rob O'Neill....

The Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden dead in the special force's most famous operation can be named today.

The Navy hero is set to give a full interview to Fox News later this month and waive his anonymity but MailOnline has established that he is Rob O'Neill, a highly-decorated veteran who quit after 16 years service.

In an exclusive interview Rob's father, Tom O'Neill, tells MailOnline, 'People are asking if we are worried that ISIS will come and get us because Rob is going public. I say I'll paint a big target on my front door and say come and get us.'

Rob O'Neill, 38, is a former member of SEAL Team Six who has been portrayed on screen in Zero Dark Thirty, Captain Phillips and Lone Survivor.

He is one of the most distinguished members ever of the elite force - but now faces being frozen out of its circles for revealing its most closely-held secrets.

Will he get the Andy McNab treatment from the Special Forces community after "coming out", so to speak?

Apparently his new job is as a "motivational speaker" at trade fairs as well as consultation work for video game developers like EA (he, along with some other SEAL buddies, helped out with the making of Medal of Honor).

There has already been doubts expressed about this guy

Present and former members of SEAL Team 6 say they regard Bissonnette as more credible than the Shooter.
