Deputy Flynn begins payment to RTÉ

It was confirmed this evening that Deputy Beverley Flynn has begun settling her legal bill with RTÉ after her failed libel action.
Solicitors for Deputy Flynn contacted RTÉ today to confirm that payment is in the process of being made electronically.

Hopefully this can mark a new beginning for Bev, after what's been a terrible time for her. I hope now that we'll see her back in the party - where she belongs.

Until tomorrow, it's going through electronically - these things take time.

So where did the money come from? Has she explained where she got €1.25million from?

You'd sweat she had been spending the last few years on a trolley in hospital corridor or jail instead of in the Dail. And this was all of her own doing.

I'll be the first to admit that Bev has made mistakes, foolish mistakes. But, we can't beat someone to death for a mistake.

They had to drag her kicking and screaming to pay money she owes. With financial behaviour like hers she will be right at home in Ahern's FF. De Valera must be turning in his grave at the sort of people that now run his party. He sacked Conor Ward as a Parliamentary Secretary for the merely impression of impropriety. Frank Aiken refused to contest the 1973 general election because he found the idea of Haughey being allowed to run for the party revolting. George Colley attacked "low standards in high places". Des O'Malley was kicked out for challenging a crook, Haughey. Where are the de Valeras, the Aikens, the Colleys, and the O'Malleys of modern day FF to uphold standards? Instead modern day FF is embodied by the Burkes, the Lawlors, the taking of thousands of pounds in whiparounds while Finance minister, etc. Flynn should be right at home.

I began an electronic transfer just now to cRapTE. Waited til i got the final notice just to annoy them. I'm sure they were ready to send a file to the DPP on me. They have no time for the little man giving them the middle one.
