First item on the agenda is the split
You think so?the reliable Henry McDonald
A PSNI and Garda co-ordinated night of the long knives is badly needed. The forces of law and order need to bet medieval on this skangers and their warped twisted sick supporters.
Henry McDonald is a bit of strange one though isn't he? He always seems to be talking up "dissident threats" and downplaying or ignoring any successes of the Shinners. I seem to remember he had a penchant for stories about strip clubs and prostitution when he was just writing for the Observer.
What's his own background?
"It is not those who can inflict the most, but those who can endure the most.....etc".
Quit with your threats. The action you speak of just makes people more resolute and entrenched.
Both sides of the border have the most draconian legislation in Western Europe at present. Internment is there in all but name.
A united Republican front is the only way forward in my opinion, by the way. Long overdue.
Ain’t gonna happen. CIRA are obviously the exception. They are, if you like, the original abstentionist Sinn Fein
The rest are mostly recent recruits, not traditional republicans, more Martin McGuinness and Jim Gibney than the Price sisters, Gerry Adams and Denis Donaldson.
The pool is well drained and they have no way of getting anywhere like the mass even the INLA had. The INLA are interesting as they had a hard core and people who specialised in certain things like nicking cars.
Omagh and its precedents took a lot of planning and specialism but most of that expertise is gone.
This story would have been better with Jim Cusack. The “New” IRA are saying they have hundreds of members. Yeah right. Most potential recruits in Derry, Belfast etc have their sights set higher than a prison jail. Dream on.
