    Kevin Myers today

Bloody good column in the Independent in which he basically denounces himself as a dimwit for not understanding the basket case that is Northern Ireland.

If you'd asked me though, Kev, I'd have explained it to you years ago: Northern Ireland's tragedy has been that it took Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness thirty years to grow up and cop themselves on and Ian Paisley fifty.

All the suffering and misery vividly recounted by Kev in today's column can be directly blamed on these 3 instances of retarded maturation.

    A satirical but sad reflection.

Why would you buy the independent.

    Don't ever do that again.

I've always enjoyed KM, even when he's wrong. It's not a big deal really. Well, unless he lands really good punches on you.

Well, don't ask me, ROC, because I'm stupid and know nothing about anything.

I used to like Myers in the IT (there's a surprise), despite him occasionally saying very dubious things about people a i care about so i'm not emotionally removed from his bile. Madam used to slap him occasionally to keep him bearable. The Indo seem to print any drivel, but then why should that surprise us. also in the IT we had the odd humurous piece that wasn't hate filled and deranged, but genuinely funny. ,

shame to see a former talent go to seed in the O'reilly loo rool factory.

Well that's a point. I bought 2 Indo's after he left - just to see, but never kept it up.
