im not sure of the veracity of wikipedia but when it says ms mcaleese had to leave her home , it says in brackets CITATION NEEDED
seems to me she was a s************************y young one who went to trinners and all that...
Her home was shot up by loyalists while she and her family were at Mass. The RUC had to be called to try to disperse the attackers who were thought intent on killing her family. Her brother was viciously assaulted by loyalists also, because he was a Catholic and because he was gay. In the end the family had to leave their home and business and flee.

I am not a fan of Mary's, but what she went through was very very real and completely documented and verified. Your comment about her as a "s************************y young one who went to trinners" is in very bad taste given what her family experienced. Some family members barely escaped with their lives.
    like i said CITATION NEEDED

Born as Mary Patricia Lenaghan, Mary McAleese has held several prominant positions in both the UK and Ireland. At only 24, she became Reid Professor of Criminal Law, Criminology and Penology at Trinity College, Dublin.

Forced to leave Ardoyne by loyalists when The Troubles broke out, she was educated at St Dominic's High School on the Falls Road and later Queens University...........

Theres plenty of references to it about.

Yes because the past is all created as PR for people.

To be honest I never actually knew until now that loyalists forced her out of belfast.
I wasnt surprised as they forced thousands out, and mudered many.
All this (oddly enough) before "the troubles" happened
