    I hope he comes.

The contrast with 79 will be instructive.

His country's agents have acted in a very unfriendly manner to our citizens on our soil.
These agents have raped our children and covered up their actions wholesale.
When confronted with their guilt they agreed to pay us some money in compensation.
This money has not been paid years later.
The agents of this foreign country want control of our schools and hospitals - they don't want to pay for this either.
Also they don't want to pay any tax on earnings in this state.
This foreign country is not a friend of ours.

We should retain cold diplomatic relations with this unfriendly state.
Such a load of bigoted BS,the vast majority of people on this island are Catholic and most practise to some degree. The church was hijacked by sexual perverts, and it was at a loss of how to react, this is being confronted head on.The Pope will come, and the Irish will wellcome him,the anti christian shysters who used the abuse of children to attack the church/religion have had their day, they will be confronted with the truth from now on.

The truth is... the vatican state and/or their agents owe us a lot of money.
Should we ask them to pay for their own security during the proposed visit...or should we just put it on their tab???

I am Irish and I will not welcome any pope.

Should the money owed by the RCC to our state be subject to interest and penalties???

Catholicism is a fading cultural echo. It's blind habbit and tradition rather than a 'living word'.

Oh they knew exactly how to react. Hush up the victims and move the perverts to another parish or ship them off to a mission. We can't have the child like faith of the paddies troubled now can we?

I'm sure the more servantile of paddies will bend knee to their idol. But the church hierarchy itself is afraid Benedicts visit will be disrupted by wide spread demonstrations.

The Pope is of course welcome to Ireland, I am only upset that he has not visited this country more often, the Pope should have come over directly after the sigining of the Treaty, I can't believe it was 1979 before Pope John Paul II came, talk about taking your time !
And I bet you'll be lining up to lick the pope's boots if he comes over here. Yeah, he can come over if he wants but the vatican can pay for the visit out of their own pockets because there's no way the state should pay one ************************************g penny towards it in light of all the catholic church related scandals that have come to light. The catholic church has done nothing but destroy this country and hold it back through it's own warped 'morality'.
'Anti-clerical element'? I'd call it the enlightened, intellectual element myself. I am proud to be a part of that evergrowing element, one which values fact over fiction and doesn't take guidance from ageing hypocritical child molesters.
You really are full of ************************.

I don't recall any time being thought that he deliberately annoyed anyone, maybe he did by the consequences of his actions and teachings.
There is a big big difference. I'm sure you can see that.
The poster enjoys annoying people, hardly very christian, just like his racist views as expressed in other threads.
It's best not to waste your time with the likes of him, he's just a hypocrite, like most religious people are.
