Anybody else think RTE's Feud was bloody awful?

Feud. RTE tonight, 9.30pm. Handful of hacks given a few hundred euro to talk to camera. Endless pics of tabloid headlines eating up airtime for zero cost (cheapest trick in the book). Drive-by footage of bleak housing estates. Cheap and nasty reconstructions. I reckon this progamme cost buttons to make and insulted viewers' intelligence. Doesn't this issue demand more serious coverage by RTE?

Yes. But coverage of that story tends to be like that: superficial, cliched and tabloid.

yeah i would agree with ya! very much put on the tv like all reality television because it is cheap to make and they know their is a big market for true crime.Still it offered nothing new, and the handful or interviews did not go anywhere really. i thought it would examine the area, i was hopin it would cause i live there, but yeah quite quite bad

Best quote of the night was
"He couldnt stand the heat so he went to Spain"
    Sums up the show

Watching it was like reading the Sunday World. I think they intended to shock the viewers but it all fell flat didn't it?

What really bugs me is that I only watched it because it was heavily plugged on Drivetime on RTE radio as if it was a serious piece of journalism.

Ìn fairness lads it `s the summer and most people aren`t as analytical as people who are on a political website. There was no depth to it at all, at the same time, that `s good enough for a huge chunk of the viewing public. It `s nice to remind drug users from more affluent backgrounds of where exactly there spending money is going as well.
