It certainly will be dearer for those who don't own a TV and so don't need a licence.

the only thing that would bring people out onto the streets would be an increase in the cost of their Sky package. I still believe that to be true
I do not think so. People will just get dishes to watch free-to-air programmes.
The only thing which would bring REAL changes in this country will be hunger. More than 50 percent of the population must be hungry.
If it is less then 50 percent, the majority will keep the hungry masses down to safe their own trough and no change will happen.

No change if that happens..none whatsoever. Hunger will only starve you of your will to fight back. Your main concern thereby will be self preservation, of you and your loved ones. The last time we had real hunger in this country , 1 million died and a 1 million emigrated. Hardly inspiring for a national revolution is it?

OK- change the tune a little bit:
It will not be the hunger. There will be enough food for all. But a certain percentage of the population will only get bad quality awfull tasting stuff. It will be enough to kill your hunger, but the taste will be a real stinker.
If more than half of the population would have to live on Soylent Green, would that bring change ?

Probably not. Most people would probably hand over their firstborn children for sacrifice to the banks if the government or troika asked them to. Then they'd moan about it.

You mean they will phone into Joe Duffy and cry about it while he listens and has a ham sandwich at the same time ?

I think alot of people are angry that the govt is taking more taxes, not that the govt is overspending on stupid things.
