Stop the "sexed up' moves to war in the mideast

The IEAE report on Iran's nuclear status will be released to member states today or tomorrow. In a way that can only remind one of the "sexed up" about WMD, yellow cake etc etc etc, there is a huge bruhaha about unvarified info about Iran's supposedly imminent nuclear weapons program. For the last week Bibi Netanyahu and Ehud Barack have been rallying for war against what they call :the existential threat to Israel's survival, while saner heads in the defense and intelligence establishment have countered their hysterical claims. This has broken out into the Israeli press. Bellicosw voices in the West are beating the drums for action against Syria and Iran, and the Middle East is akin to a "New Balkans" cockpit for war.
There is now an enormous military buildup in the region.
In an effort to calm this down Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who has been in discussions in the region made the following statement yesterday:

The insanity of this, as warned of by the saner heads in Israel, and by the quotes above from Lavrov, is that it would blow up into a region wide war with the most advanced weapons. If you think about the "New Balkans" image and the build up to the First World War you get the picture.

I agree that the 'WMD redux' noises are alarming, but I really don't think there is going to be any war against Iran.

We have been told that such a war is 'imminent' for about the past 10 years. I really do not think it's going to happen. Israel and its 'allies' only fight enemies who can't fight back. Iran can.

I think people overestimate the whole WMD arguement over Iraq when equating it to Iran. I have worked in the US for years and work with Americans all the time and tbh the average US punter does'nt give a hoot if Saddam had WMD or not they just wanted to get in and get rid. The same thing will happen with Iran they won't care either way once the job is done for their friends in Isreal. The world community will once again stand by and let it happen because they have no backbone.
