house prices are influenced by access to jobs locally. Hence a little flat in London is more expensive than a villa with a swimming pool in the south of Spain. First the labour market must turn, only then can the house prices improve. Im holding onto my money and watching the crash before i invest in this train wreck.

Some people may consider thinking about buying if these 'month to month rises' persist for about a year.. (Which I very much doubt..)

the reasons for buying are the same today as they were 20 years ago...buy if you want to settle down, start a family and desire security of tenure.

if your young, mobile and not interested in security of tenure, then rent....


To buy a house for investment purposes only is just gambling.

They are down 15.3% from the start of the year to May & its a very small gauge which excludes cash sales...
