I'm just bumping this thread, to give those who arrived today a chance to mull over the proposition.

Which is, should the "left" parties of the Dail, now form into a Technical Group for the duration of the next Dail term, to show the electorate that a viable coherent Left leaning alternative can be built and trusted, should the electorate so wish to consider choosing to vote for it

How from that position can they demonstrate to the electorate that they can manage the economy?

I'd be game for it - although it would need to be tried informally first on a few basic motions before developing more.

I think there's a crying need for the left to show that it can handle economics. We have been too reluctant to take our share of the credit for the economic growth of the past few decades.
