Undocumented workers are a fact of life here now though.

For them I would have some sympathy because they are in the same boat as many of the Irish in USA or Australia.

if the Government has seen fit to give these guys a hand-up when they arrive and they blow it all on a crap car, well, fair enough, but only to a limit. I'm not slaving my hole off to provide a banger for every punter who gets off the boat.
But a lot of let's say less educated people in my neighbourhood are more inclined to get angry about it, as they are pretty much as deprived as someone off the boat, but they don't se anyone buying them a car.

Why would the government give those guys off the boat a hand-up instead of those who are deprived in your area?

It's a key question. It all seems to do with the multiculturalism that the whole political establishment seems to subscribe to.

The native deprived are its prime, and most immediate, causalities and it is they are who’re, not surprisingly, the most resentful ( and I’d say the most clued in to what's actually happening).

But of course they are also the least influential.

Bear in mind too, that a lot of people believe that the cars are only the tip of the iceberg and that the full picture is too far-fetched to be made up.
