    Irish papers sold to Emap

Media group Scottish Radio Holdings, which owns Today FM and Dublin's FM104, has agreed to a takeover by British media group Emap in a deal which will see its Irish local newspapers sold to Johnston Press. - RTÉ

There seems to be huge consolidation in the media industry of late, particularly in local newspapers and radio.

Would you ever sell Politics.ie if the price was right?
Banned temporarily by politics.co.uk (ie this site) so as not to "offend" the Brits during Mrs. Windsor's visit.
Still censored because I cannot start a thread!

isn't e map linked to SF, and they are buying up the local newspapers to get a foothold in the media market that they can't get due to IN&M in the national market

I think emap own Empire and Q and so on. I could be wrong, but that's me current understanding.

Don't know if that's the case, but if it is will this mean that SF will get The Last Word on every argument :
