Dukes should stay put---a General Election can be only months away and when Enda Kenny becomes Taoiseach he should appoint Dukes to the Seanad as one of the Taoiseachs eleven---

I agree on this, once again, whether by design or by chance, FF have once again managed to spread the sh1t over previously well regarded people. Dukes has been duped before on this with the Tallaght strategy. Politically, his instincts are blunt..

Surely this is counterintuitive, a good man as you say, might feel he has no role and he should resign, another may think that he should stay and keep a close eye on the FF shysters and make sure that they continue to have to act with probity in as far as that is possible with this debacle. The main damage is done but there is still alot of taxpayers money sloshing around in Anglo to be picked off by FF croneyism at the first sign of complacency...

Is it not Enda's main policy to close the seanad ?

Things need to be brought to a head - dukes is having no influence - he might be watching the FF shysters but he is not doing anything about it.
There is no probity at work here - FF lads appointed Dukes and Aynsley and then then did what they wanted any way - Dukes and Aynsley are patsies.

He said of his time in anglo "if i had €100 for everytime i have been ignored i would be a very rich man".
How does he get up in the morning and go to work?

The greens would have to answer questions about why a PI director was resigning and how they could continue to support the govt.
FF/Greens were the worst thing to happen to Ireland. Until FLabourG that is...

I would have no confidence in a senator who endorses the Anglo Strategy.

Plus it is FGs goal to nuke the seanad.

Dukes and Co. have had 2 Years to look at the books. There shouldn't be any need for anyone to be taking a punt at this stage ..

He has used that same phrase on numerous occasions. It was a clever move by Lenihan to appoint him, He had great political experience. he knows the the importance of saying the right thing or more important the fallout from saying the wrong thing, Its a pity with their ability that they have to be trained like parrots. They are all full of spin, the problem is the people do not believe them or more important the international markets are starting to feel the same way.

    Yep,

A resignation now would be too little too late. He's been gone too long...

I thought Dukes was impressive on TV3 last night. I do not think he is a Me Feiner.

And for the record I never voted nor will ever vote FG.
