Tony Blair should be given the freedom of Dublin to honor the fact he has brought peace to Ireland.

Once again the small miniority of scum has shown themselves for just that.

100 protesters using violence is not a mandate it is a mentality of certain people who should be locked up and the key thrown away.

You will also most likely find these are the same people who protest against everything and the same people who live off the backs of the rest of society.
Tell that to the thousands of Iraqi and Afghani men women and children who've needlessly had bombs dropped on them in order to keep a small minority of suits in the lifestyle they've become acustomed to.

Blair may have helped getting the GFA signed but he really did blot his copy book with the Iraq War especially with lying through his front teeth about the
casus belli. Also he may have been markedly more socially liberal than Thatcher but there wasn't any difference between them in terms of economic policy.
Well the SWP's raison d'etre may be protesting (and they have a tendency of hijacking every protest) but given the fact that 80% of the Irish people were opposed to the war in Iraq i'd say the people out protesting were just really average joe soaps.
FF really do love giving freedom of the city to people who don't really deserve it. Just look at your councillors on Cork City council giving it to that Carlyle group spokesperson John Major.

Lock up irish citizens indefinitely while giving freedom of the city to a ex British PM?..
    That would solve everything alright.

Doff your cap while you at it you Jackeen.

The scumbags and skangers who are far too prevalent in Ireland have disgraced themselves yet again.

The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.

If you saw Blair on the Late Late last night he was banging the drums of war yet again in regards to Iran. He basically said that soon a decision would have to be made in regards to Iran militarily.

Has he learned nothing from the past 9 years?

A peaceful protest is fully justified under the law. Throwing eggs and shoes is not.

Engaging in petty violence of this sort simply detracts from the (perhaps valid) point the protesters were trying to make.
