Moving away from the print media Charlie Bird and George Lee have done some mighty fine work, and those who lurk in the shadows of Prime Time seem to be the only investigative journalists left in Ireland and they do a lot of good between them.
And then there's Brian Dobson's consoling eyes to reassure the nation that all is okay, Brian is there for us.
We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the internet, we know this is not true.
For opinion pieces I like Tom McGurk in the SBP. And I admire John Waters for daring to deviate from the prevailing consensus in the IT. As prose stylists, they are inferior to the odious (to my mind) Fintan O'Toole and Kevin Myers, unfortunately.
Tom McGurk and Brian Feeney are about the only reasonable journalists we have but then again the standard of "journalism" in Irealnd is pathetic

Have to agree, but I would also put Vincent Browne and Eamon Dunphy there. Gene Kerrigan has his moments.Originally Posted by MacCoise

Vincent Browne (with a passion - I hate this hypocritical D4 bollocks)
Jody Cocoran (whatever about the merits or otherwise of the current Bertiegate mark II scandal, Cocoran has proved himself a consisitent liar)
Kevin Myers & Eoghan Harris (they produces the rare valid point but mostly they talk ************************e)
