As posted on another thred just minutes ago.
When the Vatican signed the concordat with the Italian state it incorporated much of existing Italian law. As Italian law became updated these changes were automatically incorporated into Vatican law.
This automatic updating stopped a couple of years ago.

But the Vatican has only 800 citizens, and 99% of them have walking sticks... there are no children or teens in their 'country'. You're nit picking and sounding silly.

I am stating a fact. That some people do not like to hear. A independent state the has protected pedophiles need to be exposed for what it is.

Could you post a reliable source for your information please? The wikipedia entry is inaccurate, as it represents the the situation when the vatican signed the concordat. As I have already stated Vatican law incorporated automatically changes in Italian law until a few years ago.

The notion that the cardinals as you put it kept the age deliberately low is puerile and trivialises the issue,

In 2001, Benedict, who then was in charge of Vatican investigations of abuse allegations, sent a letter to bishops counseling them to forward all cases of abuse of minors to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, where they were to be subject to secrecy.
The correct instruction would have been to forward all allegations of abuse of minors to the civil authorities.

well the fact that thay allow sex ie age of consent at 12. Chech wiki. And 15 for people like teacher and students. Says a lot, never mind the the priest that were moved instead of arrested.

But i would not expect people who have been under the influence of such a group to see anything wrong.

it is true also that sorrow and acceptance without commensurate action is itself not sorry at all. Accordingly I have instructed all PApal Nuncios to immediately remove the immunity afforded to them and to release to the civil authorities, wherever they are, all files, documents and correspondence, previously refused, to take whatever consequence there is for this action. Words without action have no place in a process of true sorrow........

I think the abuse you suffered casts light on your posting views - I guess some victims got to like it... to the point where they don't think of themselves as victims
