It will all be sorted when she comes back

Well at least until the next scandal is leaked by a whistleblower.
Amazing how the Tallaght scandal replaced the TF childrens scandal.

Ever think of allowing the Irish people to govern themselves?

Oh, come on. That is put in the ha'penny place by the utter obsession around here with Harney, and to a lesser extent Coughlan and Hanafin, as opposed to the numerous other ministers who are not covering themselves in glory but mysteriously don't attract the attention of the p.ie boys' band.

Unlike the likes of Cullen, O'Dea, O'Donohue (all going or gone, thank God) or O'Cuiv, Dempsey or Ahern D., who are all visionless and incompetent gombeen parish pump types, Harney comes with a poisonous, warped and destructive ideology. A walking conflict of interest, this woman seems to see her mission as one where she shovels as much of the public money which constitutes the health budget as she can into selected private hands. It is unclear exactly in whose interest she operates but it is crystal clear that the maintenance of a functioning public health system is the furtherest issue from her mind. Since she is not acting in the interest of the general public, she feels, rightly in her own mind, that she is not accountable to the public in any manner whatsoever. The taxpayer exists merely to pay her bills without question. She is a disgrace beyond comparison.

    Charming.

If these guys hate Harney so much, and think she's screwing up the health system here, why did they tell her to go back home? Surely she's better off staying in NZ?

Apparently she was met outside the Irish Consulate by protesters waving placards demanding her to go home and face up to resignation.

Fair play to the Irish community in Auckland for giving this incompetent Minister something to think about while she's on a lavish 15-day junket. She is a disgrace to this country and I hope we see the back of her soon.

    Shame on FF indeed.

A six year act of extraordinary political spinelessness. FF: the backbones of jellyfish.

    Under Harney's watch:

    1. More students at Medical School
    2. New Consultants Contract establishing public only contracts and longer working hours
    3. The National Cancer Control Strategy
    4. The establishment of HIQA
    5. The Fair Deal Nursing Home Scheme
    6. The establishment of the HSE
    7. The establishment of the NTPF and slashing of waiting lists
    8. Improvement in Ireland EU Consumer Powerhouse Rating from 26th in 2004 to 13th in 2009

Harney has little to fear from posterity.

It's easy to slash waiting lists all right. All you have to do is to stop adding people to them, and wait for those on the list to die off.
