    Pathetic stuff from Cowen, no dignity at all he was only short of going down on his knee's, real paddy-whackery stuff going on too about Obama and his Oirish roots. Embarrassing.

    I think I'd prefer it if they called him the most powerful leader in the Western world - it doesn't roll off the tongue as easily, but I'd say it's a little more accurate.

    God, where to start. the US president is generally called the leader of the free world, but generally only in the US, the rest of the free world being a bit reticent about being ruled from abroad.
    Did the US win WWII on their own? Well that was nice of them, though not having funded Hitler's rise to power and his war mobilisation at the industrial level would probably have been better, in a prevention is better than cure knd of way.
