A mere 4% of people pay nearly 50% of income tax.

Over taxing the people, and organisations, who create wealth is counter productive.

Feck all? Have you not driven on any of the new motorways recently?

And the actual amount of tax someone earning >€100,000 pa will pay is relatively low in proportion to how much money they have while about half of all earners in the state are earning €30,000 or less.

Anyone ever wonder if this worldwide publicity of the Irish as a bit of a joke actually damages us.

I don't understand why everyone rubbishes the notion of the Taoiseach meeting the US President. Just because Cowan didnt hold a press conference announcing 5000 new jobs as a result of the meeting doesnt mean it was a waste of time. These meetings are incremental and I reckon may have beneficial effects in the long term

Incremental? How far back do we go to see the "benefits" of these junkets? The american politicians love the paddies only because of the irish american vote. He must cringe on the 17thy. Waffling witterings on our joint heritage...

Frankly I thought Cowen was more impressive then Obama.
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.
