    Whatever about what some point on a compass might do, what will YOU do?

    Will you:

    buy more Chinese goods;
    buy fewer Chinese goods;
    change nothing.
    When you see the words "Mises" or "Hayek" in someone's post, just ask yourself: do I really want to ban paper money and go back to gold?

    You have to pity the kind of people who buy into conspiracy theories. I find the following to be the saddest words on the internet: "Re: connection between Bilderberg puppet lady gaga and viral outbreak in ukraine "

    The blood has been flowing for a long time, it will not change anything. If the likes of Obama or Cameron/Brown complained about Chinese repression, they would have every hedge fund and large corporation in their states attacking them

    I'm not asking you to read Cameron's mind, just asking you about your own personal response to Chinese government massacres, as represented in your own personal purchases of Chinese goods.

    I try to buy Irish first, then European.

    If China collapses (I do not think it will - it is ascendant and the West is in decline), then Europe and America will only be days behind.

    Sadly I do not think that reducing the purchase of Chinese goods will dent their growth. China's internal economy is starting to provide most of the growth. They know this, and big business in the west knows this, and they want a piece. The failed economy of America and Britain are not exactly reliable buyers in the eyes of China.

    I wouldn't change a thing in my life in that event.

    However, the whole thread is pointless. Like the rest of the hysteria on this site it won't happen.

    Reading Cameron's mind would be like reading M McDowell's mind. Idealogical policies that are driven by a hunger for power and careful examination of what might get enough votes to get you in to power.

    While the joke was that the PD's could not be bought, but that you could rent them at a good price. It was true once they were in Govt. The same with China, once it starts handing it's massive cash piles, it will buy compliance in the west.

    The Chinese are a communist dictatorship and doomed to fail. Only free market economies have the capacity to chnage and adapt to suit the situation.

    I know what the Irish government will do. They will continue our cowardly foreign policy of being all things to all people. Sit on the fence and see who we can make a few bob from.

    What free market company or country will do otherwise. The Americans will ********************e on about Cuba, but will they ever stand up to China. No way.

    Well at least you're honest TBF.

    They way I see it, I pay a portion of the PLA's wages, and if they start murdering people, I will reduce my payments to them and their masters accordingly.

    Big Fellow, are you saying you buy nothing at all that is made in China? That is a minor miracle in itself. You're probably the only westerner who buys nothing Chinese.

    I was operating on the assumption that you, like all other westerners, buys some Chinese stuff, and that you have room to reduce that portion of your spending.
