There have been posts in support and opposition to the Irish National Party on this board. I personally would not lend my support to a hateful groups but I do see a very clear need to control immigration.

There are unique peoples all over the world. If you are going to argue on the cellular level then we won't get anywhere.
Who can argue that an Irish person neither looks like nor acts like a Nigerian. Who can argue that a Somali looks nothing like a Nigerian. What about an Indian and a Nigerian.
The world is full of fantastic cultures and distinct peoples.
Who in their right mind wants to merge all this into one mono culture? IMO the best thing about this planet (including people) is its diversity. In order to protect the diversity that exists countries need to have very strict border controls.

Who said they want the world to be monocultural? Your point of view ignores the reality that cultures have always mixed and the idea of culturally homogenous states is nonsense. Take France for instance, it's useless to say that French culture should be protected against immigration from Islamic countries as some people say because France, and most other European countries too, contain within them countless ethno-liguistic minorities (like for instance the Bretons or Picards in France, the Frisians in Holland and Northwest Germany, Kashubians in Poland, Tatars in Ukraine, Ladins in Italy and Switzerland, the Galicians and Catalans in Spain, the Slavic minority in Greece, also the Yola people in Wexford and the French minority that existed in Waterford in the past). Do you think the existence of these people who have very different cultural and linguistic affiliations from the majority populations in their respective states represents a threat to the majority or official culture in those states? I'd be inclined to say the idea is laughable, as is the idea that a small minority in Ireland from Nigeria or wherever is going to make Ireland any less culturally unique.

The irony of our age is the stupidity of the people who scream about diversity and have no idea that the very diversity they scream for is going to destroy the diversity of the planet.
