I mean there's no party to vote for. Anyway I said immigration restrictionism, not anti-immigrant. I don't expect emotional appeals against immigrants themselves - especially made by isolated individuals - to garner many votes. You do get the odd anti-immigrant loola popping up in elections. They only ever get a few hundred votes - if even that.
You also have to remember that in other electoral systems, there is far less choice and sometimes very right wing parties can benefit a protest vote. The PR-STV system may have its flaws, but it does offer voters a lot of genuine choice.
If you just have Conservative vs Socialist as the only two options you can end up with voters voting for loopy alternatives aiming to throw a spanner in the works express their general anger with the establishment or perceived lack of choice.
I think politics here, flaws and warts that it may have, is a lot more subtly sophisticated than politics in 2-party first past the post or list systems.
Well, I might be tempted if you would first clarify your beliefs instead of hiding them in a load of auld leftist waffle. On another thread you repeatedly refused to state whether or not you believe that Ireland has a right to impose immigration controls on economic migrants. The question remains unanswered.![]()
In Britain, they are becoming more racially aware, and hence smarter, than Ireland!
