A South East Clare Councillor has been threatened with court action by the man at the centre of former Minister Willie O'Dea's recent defamation controversy.
Cathal Crowe from Meelick received a solicitors letter on behalf of Sinn Fein Councillor Maurice Quinlivan after offensive comments were posted on a facebook page in support of Willie O'Dea.
Councillor Crowe set up the page, in support of the former defence Minister describing him as Ireland's most hard working TD with over 500 members of the public joining the online forum, but legal concerns were raised about two comments regarding Maurice Quinlivan.
Councillor Crowe says he's now removed the items in question and hopes it's the end of the matter.
