Hmm. Now THAT would have been a genuinely interesting case. Would a judge had heard it? Could you sue the admin of the Facebook page without going after Facebook who ultimately are hosting it, or the user who posted the message? Obviously not going to court now, but would have been a really interesting one.

Is it not still available via Google cache searches which can be readily accessed via a standard google search.

I would recommend the offending party contact Google to request deletion of the record.

funny but there in writing on the events page is:

"Willie O'Dea; Ireland's hardest working TD, has our support does not have any upcoming events."

I could ha told you that my self.

Oh and PeterValhala the google cache thing is a wind up but you shouldknow that it is a fact that Facebook retains all its records and does not actually have a file deletion policy. Did u know that or did you actually believe it was a case of once deleted its gone.

Hmm, Cathal must not be liking the comments posted in reply to the solicitor's letting post. He has deleted them all. He seems to be very busy with his facebook page tonight
There must be a williewatch watch going on over there.

As some one posted over there, it is quiet funny that now he is being asked to take down posts, where as a while back he was in trouble for taking a poster out of a shop, caught on CCTV.

It took him forever how to figure out how to remove the topics. Unbelievable

Not the sharpest of them is Cathal

how to delete a facebook page and safeguard yourself frombeing sued.

a helping hand: How to Permanently Delete a Facebook Account - wikiHow

Whoever runs that facebook group about supporting Willie should delete it to be safe.

the deadline is tomorrow and clearly the person running it has no technical knowledge and cannot effectively control whats written on it and demonstrably the people posting on it have no qualms about posting libellous material.

if i were them i'd delete the page and go to sleep safe in the knowledge case closed and no fool could put something libellous up before cob ( and only an utter fool and spa would)

Better delete the facebook page than making a mistake and being sued.

I don't think Cathal Crowe is someone that you would want to be helping. Have a quick search for him on Google.

Just another example of his technical incompetence , from Googling Cathal Crowe. The man shouldn't be let unsupervised near a computer. What does he mean by "The Cathal Crowe" does he think he is the Chieftain of the Crowe clan now.
