Which means the reshuffle wont happen till he is entitled to his full pension.

Has it been confirmed that Gormley would lose his ministerial pension? When does he qualify for the full ministerial pension?

If Cuffe takes over as Minister when will he qualify for a Ministerial pension?

According to what I read here, I think its June. So, he just needs to hang in a little bit longer.

Have checked RTE and TV3....no such report. Did you mean Cullen not Gormley?

Ithink we may be barking up the wrong tree on this one--my bet is that if Gormley is to move sideways his replacement will be the twitterer Dan Boyle.

Well Cuffe would want to make sure he gets the Planning Bill through, which had it been around 15 years ago as the Greens wanted, would've prevented the stupid and blind reliance on construction that has crippled us and left us with a legacy that cannot be catered for in the future.

Gormley also pushed the Habitats Directive at long last, ignorance of which over the years will see Ireland face fines in the European Court. He also got the Local Government reform agenda firmly at the core in recent months, elected Mayors across the state is but one element

Environment is not like Transport where you can show up to just one bypass opening and get in all the papers and get reelected automatically.

You can slag him off for Tara, which was Roche, the incinerator, which was FF as well, for spending 70,000 counting frogs, when the aforementioned fines would be in the millions, and the lightbulbs which were also done with efficiency in mind.

Unfortunately he has allowed FF to ride the Greens sideways over the last few years and has come across as one of the weakest Mininsters, personality and gravitas wise over the last 2 years.

    The government is now finished.
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

Davin Power on RTE has just mentioned it. He put it to the Greens office - they didn't deny or confirm it.
I have no doubts the story is true. It demonstrates the utter stupidity of this GP - they have been so naive and out of their depth in coalition.
The idea of the party leader not being cabinet makes no sense.
There is obviously more to this story. It may do with his uneasy relationship with Eamon Ryan, it may have something to with the Dockland report which he does not want to defend. The Govt may have to put 6 billion more euro into Anglo which will cause huge unrest in this country. The thought of Gormley having to defend a report whose central player is Seanie Fitzpatrick may be too much for him.
Many GP TD's look to be on the verge of breakdown.
It is only a matter of time before the coalition comes tumbling down.
Even though they will be slaughtered in a GE, it is still better than trying to defend the indefensible on a daily basis.

Gormley is just as responsible for Tara and the incinerator as FF ... that has been shown here many times.

Gormley's main legacy will be NAMA. Try to blame FF for that one lads. Your children's children will know the Greens were the ones who allowed NAMA to happen.

    Agreed.

Gormley must shoulder the lions share of responsibility for the death of Green politics in this country. Well done Minister Gormley ... 25 years of hard work destroyed for some lightbulbs.

You can Ursurla Halligan's report on the TV3 website. My question would be - why were Sargent and Gormley covered by the rotation deal and not Ryan?
